- What inspired your subject matter?
Walking through Maputo city streets, is easy to meet albinos, always very focus in their own walk, like they were in a hurry, taking a quick glance to everything, advoing to look straight. Moçambique is the neighbourgh country of Tanzania, where albinos are chasing and hunting because of their physical condition. I wondering what are happening with albinos in Moçambique, what problems they have to face.
- How did you plan your piece?
Only tried to met some albinos, to knew what their feelings, problems, hopes, experiences are.
I decided to be in Maputo, to have the chance to make the interviews and to see the city, instead to go to the north beaches and islands.
I didn't plan the piece at all, it birth when I was there, I was in a ten days trip in Moçambique, my first time in Africa.
- What challenges did you face?
Just to have a conversation with them. About the everyday life, about themselfs.
- What is your ambition as a documentary maker?
To show peoples's way of life. To be enough close to share their experiences.
