One stage of a three tiered waterfall we stumbled upon. The beauty of Knoydart is that you find amazing features all by yourself. Water cascaded over old bare rocks, so many different tones of silver and black. Before pitching up tent we just sat and watched as water gushed over the rocks and into the pool below, as it has done for years, whether there's anyone there to marvel at it or not.

Low at the bottom of the Knoydart mountains, the rivers carve deep into the earth, exposing old rocks, sculpted and shaped over the centuries. Much of Knoydart is owned by the John Muir trust, and we are so lucky to be able to walk freely across this landscape. It is our duty to preserve these wildernesses for future generations.

Stewards of the Bothy.
We met these four incredible men as we arrived at Sourlies Bothy. They work for free travelling all over Scotland repairing and maintaining Bothies, so that anyone can find a sheltered place to spend the night. A father, his two brothers and his son. We shared stories long into the night around a roaring fire.
