My name is Ilya Fomin, I’m 22 and live in Moscow, Russia. I'm a geologist (BSc, master student, work in geochemistry and volcanology) and often participate in fieldworks and scientific conferences in different countries. Besides, I use any other chance to travel.
Photography is my main hobby. It help me in work, as geology photos embraces from entire landscapes to tiny mineral grains.
I believe, that if we came to this world, we should see it.Travelling gives me an opportunity to see other cultures, learn history, traditions and religions, meet people and to absorbe into domestic atmosphere. You can study a lot from books, internet, newspapers but nothing can replace your own expierence.
It is really nice to talk with your best friends after any journey. Also I have a blog with illustrated stories about each journey.
And finally about my goals. This trip must be a good practice in learning photography from real professionals, and in any case it is a good chance to broaden my cognitive horizons. Another goal is to observe unique geological setting in Oman (lithosphere obduction). It should be a nice piece in my professional background. It will be my first trip to this region.
