Quiet Reflections

My Photo scholarship 2010 entry

Australia | Sunday, October 17, 2010 | 5 photos

I studied in Melbourne, Australia, and graduated in 2007 with a Marketing degree. My stint in Australia opened my eyes to the beauty of this world and thus began my love affair with photography. Meeting people from different cultural backgrounds and embarking on various backpacking adventures also played important roles in deepening my passion for capturing visual memories of my experiences.

I recently left my job as Marketing Executive in the Singapore Tourism Industry in favour of pursuing a career in travel writing and photography. Currently, I aid several Singaporean companies in doing travel write-ups and voluntarily assist Filipino wedding photographer, John Mateos Ong, in his wedding shoots.

Williamstown, a quaint suburb in Victoria, Australia, is reflected in my portfolio as a "place I have visited". Its simple beauty and serenity make it a relaxing getaway from the hustle and bustle of city living.

Winning the Travel Photography Scholarship would be an out of the world experience for me. More than anything, I would love to experience life as a National Geographic photographer. Having Jason Edwards as a mentor would be an amazing learning opportunity and I cannot wait to hone my photography skills in the mystical land of Bhutan.
