Travel photography allows me to tell powerful visual stories around the globe. Whether I’m hiking into the Himalayas with nomads or discovering bizarre Thai insects, my passion for creating compelling images has given me the drive to explore our planet.
I love the unpredictable nature of travel photography, where I may have just seconds—and one shot—to capture an entire journey. As a writer by day, much of my time is spent editing at a desk; travel photography gives me creative freedom. Still, I strive to improve my technique and shoot from new perspectives.
Instead of dwelling on photo editing, I spend time learning about my environment and even living with my subjects in an effort to understand their lives. I often shoot in monochrome or awake early in the morning to achieve just the right mood. My goal? To convey exceptional moments with a single photograph.
Greenland would be an incredible opportunity to not only experience such a unique environment, but to learn the art of travel photography on assignment. From tracking herds of oxen to exploring colorful villages, I hope to photograph this little-known country and create extraordinary images for the world to see.
