Asakusa Culture and Tourism Center 2012. This really interesting new piece of architecture in one of the oldest part of downtown of Tokyo Asakusa brings something of an injection of life into the area. The building’s starkly contrasts its surroundings with its modern, glassy facade and unconventional form.

Tokyo’s Omotesando Boulevard is a stunning catwalk of high-end contemporary fashion and dramatic architecture build in the 2000s. To make a fashion statement in Tokyo, it’s no longer enough to create a shop interior. This store stands out, a building type that is part billboard and part architectural gift-wrapping.

A glimpse of new Sky Tree Tower, the tallest tower in the world from a street along downtown Tokyo, Asakusa area. As welll as revitalising the Asakusa surrounding area and Tokyo’s skyline, the tower’s completion a year after the earthquake and tsunami disaster is seen as a sign of nation’s recovery.
