My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

Albania | Wednesday, September 21, 2011 | flickr photos

I am a 27 years old medical doctor. When I am not at the hospital or volunteering in a local fair-trade shop, I love to travel around the world with my D-SLR. Traveling with a camera helps me to appriciate more new landscapes, new colors, new lights.

And of course it gives me the chance to meet new people and exchange experiences.
Everytime I travel I love to have a base in the guesthouse of an association/NGO so that I can easily and deeper understand the social situation of the place I'm visitng.

When I took the pictures I am showing you I was in the north of Albania visitng an Italian NGO that helps homeless children.
Since the seaside is quite far from this mountainous region, in the summertime, twice a week children use to have go swimming in this small lake to escape from the summer heat.

Why should I be chosen? Well, when I got an assignement I love to do a lot of reasearch about it before going on the spot. And, as involved in fair-trade, I got a lot of contact worldwide to help me on the research and on site work..
