My Scholarship entry - Japan in 5 Images

Japan | Sunday, January 13, 2013 | 5 photos

I am leagues away from the definition of a good photographer. Hobbyists and professionals can whoop my ass any day. However, armed with my simple, not-so-up-to-date digital camera and the thirst for adventure, I take pictures simply because I love the way certain scenes/things/people make me feel. I'm a sentimental guy, and while I know I can't go back to the times that take my breath away, I can resort to the next best thing: photos that remind my senses a little bit of the beauty I find in the world.

I may not be the best at composing photos; I may not get the technicality of it all. But pick me because I love the world and I love getting to know new cultures and societies. I love talking to people and telling their stories. I love sceneries and the stories that they tell (and how they can mean so many different things to so many people).

Pick me because I see the beauty of this world. Pick me because I want to tell it's stories.

I don't know if I'll ever be good at photography, but I would like to learn all the ropes. I'm wishing that I can learn more about the technicality and aesthetic of it all so I can also produce world-class, striking, gosh-darn-it-awesome photos.
