My Scholarship entry - Sometimes We Make Good Choices

Dear World Nomads,
Don't choose me because I have degrees in Anthropology and Ethnic Studies.
This world is more than academic pursuits.
Don't choose me because I've been selected by my elders to pass on our hula traditions to the next generation.
This world is more than indigenous purpose.
Don't choose me because I've survived combat twice.
This world is more than commanding a fight.
Don't choose me because I've made good friends around the globe.
This world is more than improvising sign language.
So why then should you choose me?
Because I've already unlocked the secret to enjoying life and living.
Some people spend their entire lifetime trying to figure that out.
This world is not about an individual journey --- not mines, not yours, not his or hers or any one body's...
This world is about reaching across the ocean that surrounds my island and mixes with the 7 seas around the globe.
This world is about being fluid like the color of water to connect and reflect.
I want to do that with my camera, with my photos, and with my journal.
And I want to do this with the help of World Nomads.
In return, I offer my work back to World Nomads.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely
:-)
