While helping out a foundation that cares for marginal sectors of Tijuana, it came to my attention that what these people from San Quintín (187 miles south of the San Diego border) where doing was most impressive. Trying to get rid of violence and criminality by getting to them young. They reach out to children and give them a fighting chance by organizing events and counseling sessions among other things.
Every six months the kids from the neighborhood specially wait for the soccer tournament that these guys help out to put up. Taking in kids and adolescents alike they show them sportsmanship, good conduct and respect for life and friendship.
Currently studying audiovisual communications in Tijuana, Baja California I have enjoyed creating photojournals of trips I have made around Europe while living in Spain for four years. I haven’t had a good opportunity to jump unto video until now. And I’m trying to sponge up all the knowledge I can get my hands on to be able to do it. Being the recipient of this scholarship would be a great source of information and experience.
