My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I'm JJ. I was born in Costa Rica-moved to California when I was 7 years-old. It was here where I found my passion for people I've never seen, culture, and places I can only dream of going, and to one day write about it all. Everyday I day-dream of being a tourist in Rome, France, or Fiji. There I am wearing my hat and sunglasses walking around with my camera and journal in my hand;by the end of the trip I see myself mastering a new language. These are my fantasies. This is the life I'll someday live. From a very early age I knew I wanted to be a part of the National Geographic team. I would be so thankful if I were chosen for this scholarship. It's a beautiful thing when you can capture an emotion in a persons face and I think it's amazing how my camera will allow me to do that. I have to admit, I am not the best at scenery photography. Which when you think of it, it's pretty funny because scenery is just there. It's harder for me though. I need perspective and I have so much more to learn. Going to Greenland with someone who not only is professional, but is in love with his work would be amazing. "Find what you love and let it kill you." I've found my love.
