Underground in Regensburg, Germany

GERMANY | Monday, 3 September 2007 | Views [754]

Naomi and I went with 16 other people to an underground ruins in Regensburg, Germany.

These ruins were discovered in 1995 while diging to put in a new parking garage! Our tour guide took us underground behind a locked door that opened out into the Marienplatz in Regensburg. She had a special key to let us in.

We saw walls and archways that were over 400 years old. There was also the remains of a bomb shelter left over from WWII that was nearby. A videotape showed an artist's 3-D rendition of what the area would have looked like in its heyday.
