A New Pakeha In Town

Sydney Surprise

AUSTRALIA | Friday, 19 October 2012 | Views [176]

All those crazy volunteering hours prepared me for sleeping well on the 23hr flight and arriving into Sydney with no jet-lag! For those who are not aware – my intention for the stop-over in Sydney was to surprise Tom for his birthday. Thank you everyone for keeping it a secret as he had no idea that I was doing this!

Arriving in Sydney at 6am, Zoe hid me in their garden until Tom went to work. This was a thumbs up for me because they had a swimming pool with a view of the Harbour.

After a chilled out day, Zoe and I head off to Daring Harbour to suprise Tom. Zoe picked Tom up from the ferry then went to a Bar. We created a card with a word-search highlighting my name and then I appearred when he read the card.

After a lovely Thai meal and fun times playing in the Chinese water garden, we watched fireworks in the Harbour.

The next day was Tom’s birthday so we went for waffles then Lazer Quest and Bowling in the evening with some of their ex-pat friends.

The following day we all went to Bondi beech so Tom could try out his new surf board. As I was flying out that day Zoe and I decided to be more cultured and see the sculpture festival along the coast from Bondi. See the photos.

A jammed packed but also relaxing stop-over in Sydney to refresh me before arriving in Wellington.
