Walking to the bunkers I was overcome by the vastness of the coastal forest. I can only imagine the thoughts going through the heads of the first explorers to try and settle this land. They were probably filled with a mixture of awe and excitement.

The bunkers have long been reclaimed by nature, but a graffiti artist reclaimed it with the work shown.

I took this shot of myself to connect the attitude expressed by the work to a person. My long board fit perfectly in the composition and fit with the character of the attitude that I was trying to capture.

Along the Oregon coast there are a plethora of Himalayan Blackberries. They are considered an invasive species but are quite delicious. I found these berries growing over the door of an abandoned building. It reminded me just how quickly nature can reclaim what it has lost. The door seems simple, but we are the only species that has created the door, so to me it symbolizes civilization. The berries are invasive, but who invaded who first?
