My Photo scholarship 2011 entry
Tanzania | Monday, November 7, 2011 | 5 photos
My love of photographing the natural world was born out of my first trip to the Serengetti, Tanzania, and since then I made it my mission to go back on safari to photograph the African wildlife, so when I made my second trip to Tanzania I was prepared with my first ever SLR camera. I knew I wanted to be a travel/nature photographer when it became more important for me to capture the perfect shot for me to keep than, step back and just watch the animals. Since coming back from TZ I enjoy spending my time photographing my pets, animals, plants/flowers and friends, or virtually anything else. These photos are just a few of my favourites from the trip to Mikumi National Park and express just how beautiful the natural world is. This series captures the innocence and curiosty of some of the most incredible inhabitants of our planet.
I can't imagine how incredibly happy I would feel dropping my life at home for any chance at some time back in Africa photographing the amazing wildlife that I really truly love and appreciate. My love for animals and passion for conservation are just extra forces driving my love of photographing Africa. My love of travel, meeting new people and experiencing new cultures is also what makes me crave the life of a travel photographer. I love to WOW people with my photographs and the story they tell, and most of all I love to WOW myself with them!
