I cherish meeting simple people with an open and loving heart. Sidney Aoki with his positive, laid-back and respectful approach to life has had a great influence on my thinking. He and his ohana (family) welcomed me to the Big Island and thanks to them I managed to turn my bitterness over being expelled from the ocean into gratefulness and creative expression. I want his voice to be heard because his words are honest and powerful.
Hunor Lorinczi (the cameraman and my husband) and I worked together on an intercultural performing art & video project for two years (2011-2013). The result was a one hour documetary/experimental film: Under the Same Sun. It connects three cultures through their traditional arts: Hungary, Tahiti and Okinawa.
As filmmakers our wish is to create visually engaging and spiritually inspiring stories that connect people and cultures through art: be it dance, music, painting or crafts. Our films are a way to honor the adventures and the inspiration our travels bring to us.
New Orleans is an art hub and thus I am sure She has many stories to share. If we are the right ones to find and tell one, I am sure She will invite us and we will be honored to listen.
