My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

India | Monday, June 24, 2013 | 5 photos

Photography is my passion and my only love. I picked it up at the age of 4. I have studied Photography, and spent a majority of my time using film cameras, learning darkroom techniques until completing my bachelors. Currently I am doing my masters in Disaster Preparedness, Mitigation and Management in Thailand. I have travelled extensively in India and shot photos from the Himalayas to National Parks and wildlife. I have held six solo large scale travel-photo exhibitions in India. For Travel Photography I am ready to sacrifice all luxuries in life to take up this ever challenging path to bring to people what their eyes usually overlook. Through my photos I want to stimulate in people the need for conservation of our beloved earth and bring in them the urge to change towards a more sustainable world. It is not only my passion but a childhood dream that you can fulfil by giving this scholarship, mentoring me and giving me the springboard to the world of Professional Photography. With an avid thirst to learn, I have the patience and dedication it requires, and want to be as photo-perfect as I can on the camera. I therefore see myself as the strongest candidate for this scholarship.
