“Never my path has been so clear, I know the direction, I can see the light. Whether it takes me to Heaven or Hell, That's the way. That's my destiny”.
With these words on my mind I leave the place where I’m having breakfast, and start walking down a street of an old area in Rome called Borgo Pio. It’s quite early in the morning, just a few people are starting their day as I do with an espresso at the bar. I love the atmosphere, it is so quite. It is exactly what I need to have a think about the words that just jumped on my mind. In the sky, happy seagulls are flying in circles over my head and a soft lovely smell of warm bread coming from a Forno reaches me. I am lucky, I am pretty sure that will become a crowded area in an hour or two with many people having their cappuccino and cornetto at Bars. I take the advantage of being by my own to appreciate the place. Being an old area of the city, Borgo Pio maintained its original shape and special atmosphere of an ancient time which definitely leaves much to the imagination. Flowers on few of the balconies remind me spring is approaching and fresh roses welcome the new day. A lady from a terrace follows her son who has just run out from an old tiny green door. The scene, recalling me a neo-realism movie, put a smile on my face as the lady is still there waiting, although her son has already turned the corner! It feels like a privilege to be there having access to such a simple and loving moment. I smile at that woman on the terrace and she replies back with a just cut red rose held high like a champagne flute. I’m both mesmerized and excited. All of a sudden, I remember my own original words … I do see the light. This was the answer through experience I was looking for. The important thing is to be on the way, when you share moments with others, you are a part of the world; when you are open to the unknown, things happen; when you follow your own images, you may reach anywhere and at anytime heavenly places.
