Usually when we see picture like this, its a tourist staring out over an ocean or some beautiful scenery, which is why i find this picture beautiful. This picture is of a woman who lives in a garbage slum in Kenya. She lives, and survives, eats and works off of things that she finds in a garbage dump. Even though it is not much, and to most people it is way below any living standards, to her, this is home, and it is beautiful. Every person we spoke to at this garbage slum was extremely proud of what they had, and were grateful for any and everything that we did for them that day.

This picture was accidentally taken when our driver told us to get ready to take pictures of the great rift valley. So i stuck my camera out of the window and held down the rapid fire. When i looked at the pictures i noticed that in the left side of the picture there is a truck that has turned over, with a man sitting on the wheel. It a weird picture to look at, because the truck honestly looks like it has been there for a long time, and the man just looks like he is taking a break on a tire.

This picture is at an orphanage that I volunteered at during my stay. The most interesting thing about that orphanage was that, even though i was the volunteer who was supposed to be helping, the kids did all of the work. There was 42 kids in a two bed room house with more laundry to do then i could imagine, with no washing machine and water at only limited points in the day. These were the four elder boys who did work without asking questions, and had so much fun doing it. A far reach from the children I see daily in Canada.
