Slowing waking up, a sand artist gazes out at his home. He chews a piece of bubble-gum and a there is a sense of quiet tranquility on the empty beaches.

At first glance, it is easy to miss the human sleeping under these blankets. Sand had blown up over his form and the only recognizable feature was his hand.
This sight gave me an uneasy introduction into the lives of these artists and how they are truly a part of the beaches they live on.

Work starts as soon as tourists begin appearing. George begins by wetting the sand sculptures that have survived the night before moving on to fixing the sculptures that didn't. Bad weather sometimes breaks down their works, but more commonly passerbys destroy the sand sculptures when their creators are sleeping.
