Creating their own survival

My Photo scholarship 2010 entry

An unblinking, unmoving street performer patiently waits for his next cue, the sound of money, to spring into action.

The vibrance and spontaneity of the art in Paris was something that I had expected, but never fully fathomed. Inspiration lay down each street, behind brightly feathered masks and on the palette of every genre-specific painter.

It is a characteristic of Paris that I long to experience again.

Photograph details:
Sony A200 with standard 18-70mm lens
Aperture f5.6, shutter speed 1/125 and ISO 160.
Mode: Aperture priority
