My Photo scholarship 2010 entry
Netherlands | Sunday, October 17, 2010 | 4 photos
Hi, My name is Tatiana Karanja, im 18 years old and i live in kenya. I am a very determined, adventurous person and i am willing to learn. These photos were taken in Urk, Holland and they depict what to my mind constitute everything about life. The struggle, the beauty, the pain, the glory and the end. I would really love to go to Bhutan and get the chance to work with and for Jason Edwards , such an amazing photographer, where i know i could learn so much more and gain more knowledge of the world of photography. This cap a truly memorable year, a year in which i discovered my love for photography, which i spent travelling all over Kenya (when i could) taking photo's of the beaches, the wild life, the mountains, the villages ,old towns, the highlands and the people of the most beautifull country in the world, at first with the camera on my Nokia phone then with an old cannon(not digital) flash camera i got from my Grandmother (i cant wait to get home with my new Cannon 550 digital camera i just bought in Holland-i have entered the first photos i have taken with it). Photography is a love which though it has existed for a brief time is as complete as any passion i have ever experienced, and which incredibly i would be able to combine with my much older other great love, travelling. Thank you for giving me the chance to participate in this competition that offers such an amazing opportunity. It would be life changing and would mean the world to me!
