My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Growing up I never felt I had a creative bone in my body. That was, until I met my husband. Being a former clown and actor, every part of his world was creative and slowly I became drawn into this world.
He always told me I was creative, but I couldn’t see it and I never believed him.
Five years ago he asked me if I wanted to buy a camera to “share”? After much thought, I eventually decided to go for it.
As soon as I switched it on and took my first image, the world suddenly became clearer, sharper. With details I never knew even existed, including the tiny pattern on the black nose of my puppy.
I want to be able to learn as much as possible, so I can continue doing what I love.
My life has changed so much in 5 years. I now see the world differently. I no longer walk past the old man sitting on a bench. I stop and stare at this old man with the sunlight glowing on his face, which is etched with lines of age and notice the texture and depth that these lines have and think to myself, wow, imagine what his life was and is like.
Time seems to stand still when I am behind the camera, and I guess for that split second, a moment in time has truly been captured forever.
