My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I bought a SLR in 2010 before going to Kenya, had no idea how to use it but took it anyway...needless to say, although some photos came out well, it was very obvious I was a newbie and I was disappointed in some of the pictures and frustrated I didn't take the time to learn how to use it properly. This is where I developed my love for photography and made me see photography differently. Now, I rarely leave the house without my camera and (hopefully!) after teaching myself and participating in a creative photography course my technique has improved & I am becoming more aware of how I like my photos to look.

I believe this scholarship will help me to tune my own personal style, both technically and creatively in order to create better photos and to be able to confidently call myself a photographer.

I embrace different cultures and am I am happiest when in interesting and unfamiliar environments. My degree is Tourism Management and IT, and I work in expedition management to increase my prospects of travel in the future! These photos were taken in Morocco at the start of 2012, the vibrant colours and patterns provided some excellent photo opportunities, these are some of my faves!
