Penang Georgetown

A city of arts and cultures
I must confess I didn't know much about Pulau Pinang Georgetown. After a leisure travel to this place, all I can say is Georgetown beautiful scenery, interesting local foods and welcoming nature of local are unlike anything you will ever come across.
I was enamoured by its rich culture, especially Teo Chew culture and their traditional foods! Besides that, in conjunction with the month of Hungry Ghost Festival or YU LAN JIE, you can see many Chinese Taoism and Buddhism were preparing ritualistic food offerings, burning incense, and burning joss paper, a paper-mache form of material items such as clothes, gold and other fine goods for the visiting spirits of the ancestors. You can also see there is many lives performance were held, such as Chinese opera(Goh Tai). It will be span about 15 days.
I felt very lucky because I have the chance to watch the enthralling Teo Chew Puppet Show which rarely to be heard and found in Malaysia. It is the Kim Giak Low Choon Puppet Show. I was born to be a Teo Chew children but I never have a chance to watch a puppet show before. Thanks to the indomitable spirit of Goh Hui Ling and every member in the puppet group! They had let me seen one of the traditional culture of Teo Chew. They are so revered. By then, I would also like to thank Wen Hao, a student who currently studied in Australia. Without him I wouldn't know that there is such a puppet show in Teo-Chew culture.
Apart from that, when I was wandering down the street,I can see many arts on the crumbling old walls. There are many worship statues and historical buildings such as mosque, Chinese and India temples which some of them were over decades or even hundred years! I like the moment when I was pedaling down to every street, I love the way people talking in their own language, what they normally do in their daily life.
Little India-a street that crowded with Indians culture, the aroma of the coconut oil, flowers, and curry. The songs of India, the clothes, the way they greet, the traditional foods and candy.
Kimberley Lane- where I can search many Teo-Chew foods and Hakka foods along the street.Tucking into delicious traditional dessert who known as Si Gue Teng and Almonds Soup (Xing Ren Teng).
I admitted that I really fall in love with Penang Georgetown. It gives me the satisfaction of the five senses-sight, touch, scent, taste and sound.
The trip I had spent in Penang Georgetown Malaysia had left an indelible impression on me.
