Walking the Camino

El Camino Diaries

SPAIN | Monday, 8 September 2014 | Views [271] | Scholarship Entry

I studied film production at University where I spent 3 years learning the basics that I needed to start creating my own travel documentaries. Since then I have travelled on the Camino de Santiago with my camera documenting the trip to share with other pilgrims planning their excursions. Recently I worked on a documentary about WWOOFing in which I travelled around farms in the UK working, filming and learning. Both of these where filmed, edited and promoted by myself and speaking of the former, which has been released, was very well received.

I have wanted to create travel films since I was a teenager and this was my entire driving force for going to University, I wanted to make sure that I could do it and do it well! I am forever trying to teach myself new tricks, learning from anyone who is willing to share. Both traveling and filmmaking are huge passions for me and I want nothing more than to share the wonderful places I visit with others. I live by 3 main words, to travel, share and inspire.

Winning this opportunity would mean the world to me. Literally, I think that something like this could open up so many different opportunities in different destinations in the long run. Winning would mean giving me the chance I need to learn from someone who truly knows what they are talking about, it means me learning so much more, and more than anything it means an opportunity to work on something amazing!
