About tammymackenzie
Woman. Observer. Learner. Explorer. Artist.
I’m a curious soul with a propensity for wandering and experiencing new ways of life. This passion for exploration has instilled a compelling need to isolate visual elements that surround us all but often get overlooked. Whether I’m capturing a portrait, an object of desire, or a fragment of nature, my common aim is always the same - to capture the beauty and essence of the world around us.
This creative expression has ultimately led to my pursuing a Fine Arts degree in Photography at Ontario College of Art & Design University in Toronto, Canada. Now entering my fourth and final year, my photography has evolved into a conceptual fine art practice merged with photojournalism.
My work is based in narratives about life’s passages as we move from one experience to the next, creating personal history and memory. It’s also based on the intention to celebrate the present moment through details, where one of my goals as an artist is to inspire people to slow down enough to consciously be wherever they are. To look. To find. To appreciate.
