Expression. To me expression is such an important attribute. It can be deemed many things, but to me it is a way of art and my art is photography. I like to push the boundaries and create something artistic with every new image. The kick I get out of a photo continues to make me strive for an even better image which makes my passion for photography continues to grow.
After showing people in my community my photos I have found they are not just an expression but a way to connect with people. They touch people’s emotions and inspire them. I want to be able to inspire my community to go for their own dreams and if I receive this scholarship it will allow me the chance to do this. I believe strongly in the power of inspiration. Inspiration is something so small that can do so big!
I am eager to gain as much knowledge from this experience as possible. It will give me the chance to see the world and work on my technique and skill. I am keen to learn more about the industry from an insider’s point of view which could potentially help me in the long run gaining a career in travel photography. It will be the start of a new journey.
