My Photo scholarship 2010 entry

Worldwide | Friday, October 15, 2010 | flickr photos

These photographs are from Kemmanagundi, a hill station in Tarikere taluk of Chikkamagaluru district in the state of Karnataka, India. It is located at a height of 1434m above sea level. It's an ideal place for leisurely trekking. The hills here are so green and the wind feels so fresh, it is hard to leave the place one you get there. I was also very impressed by the life of the local residents. Agriculture is the main livelihood for most of them. They are hardworking, yet very friendly. Their simplistic view towards life and the way they embrace and protect nature is really commendable.

Photography is my serious hobby for last 2 years, but I was an admirer the art of photography for long before that. I believe that a picture can describe a million words. I love watching pictures taken by great photographers. Also I like to draw in my spare time.
