My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Samuel Johnson said, “The use of traveling is to regulate imagination by reality and instead of thinking how things maybe, to see them as they are.” I thrive to travel the world: I am twenty-four years old and taking in every day as it is presented to me, every minute to admire the space that surrounds me…while constantly clicking a button to hold onto every one of those spaces.
My passion is not just to travel, observe and experience. It is to wrap my arms around the moment in an image with the hope to create emotion, to inspire and to evoke a sense of wanderlust. This is the intention that drives me. I am a recent college graduate that is seeking my next learning experience. I want to be exposed to as much of the world this life has to offer me. It’s rough, it’s emotional, it’s dirty, beautiful and I want it all.
The opportunity to participate in this scholarship would help me reach my future goals in photography, it would expand my mind creatively as an artist, and help develop myself as an individual. I am prepared for this next chapter of life. I am prepared for my destination, not of a place, but a new way of seeing things as they are, instead of thinking how they may be.
