Tree of Life Fall Episode

About sweetcactus

As a young adult, my father entrusted me with his old Nikon 35 mm camera and instilled in me his passion for photography.  I still have this camera which fills my mind with nostalgic moments.

To this day, photography allows me to enjoy adventure and making new discoveries.  At present time, I regularly practice yoga in order to maintain my agility for a very long time.  My weekends are spent doing long distance hikes in various areas in order to get off the beaten path and admire unique settings.  My trip of the West Coast Trail in 2008 on Vancouver Island was a great physical challenge.  With friends, we conquered the 77kms of trails, ladders, river crossings and difficult terrain that allowed me to observe the unique splendor of wildlife and fauna that resides inside the Pacific Rim National Park.  This past winter, after a 10 year hiatus due to a poor first experience, I challenged myself to a second try on downhill skis only to discover my love for the slopes and the landscapes that await us at the top of the world.

One image is worth a thousand words resonates with me.  A great photo, in my humble opinion, must lure the attention of the viewer.  To travel, as birds do on wings, to places that captivate one’s imagination and to share that unique experience is my inspiration.  Some do love the most perfect of settings.

New venues of unseen scenery, the subtle differences they can portray, un-common places, architecture that defies the laws of gravity, all these nuances incite me to board a plane towards new adventures.  I have walked the jungles of Costa Rica, braved volcanoes of Iceland, admired multiple ethnic communities in rural China, meditated in a Japanese Buddist temple, enjoyed Czech beer on a eccentric street in Prague and continue to be amaze that all this diversification forms our home, planet Earth.  I love discovering my planet!
