My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

India | Friday, July 5, 2013 | 5 photos

Amused at the entries submitted for the contest, I started to imagine the response of a panel of judges sitting across the table. In varied accents (perhaps not) I could visualize a plethora of responses ranging from ‘cute kid’ to ‘check this one out’ and ‘he seems fit!’. Pondering if I had to do photographic justice to something like that taking place in a room, what lens would I need? Is there a way my photo will be able to amplify the sounds of your reactions? Is it supposed to? How will I decide whom to leave out of my composition to make the image have a stronger impact? Would I take the focus off the main judge if someone else is giving a more animated expression and thereby make a more engaging image? Would that be termed cheating? I am Swati, writing from the Himalayan town of Tikkar in Himachal Pradesh, India with a keen interest in Photography and Yoga. This is the place that I would love to do stories in and around if I get an opportunity to learn how to photograph as I travel. At the risk of pulling this verbal stunt off, I am applying for this scholarship as I have some more questions like above and I am confident of finding my answers while helping Jason. Thank you.
