We arrived in Santiago on December 13th after a LONG overnight flight. Santiago is Chile's capital and its largest city. It is surrounded by the Andes. We booked a private tour of the city through our hotel.

As we cruised through the Chilean fjords, we saw some glaciers which were unexpected. We also saw a life-size replica of Magellan's ship as well as a replica of Darwin's ship, the Beagle.

We drove through Castro, going to Chiloe. We also visited the Iglesia de Chonchi, a world heritage site, and the St. Francis Cathedral from 1906.
