My Photo scholarship 2010 entry

The set of photos I am submitting were made this summer in Ghana, during a visit to the country as part of a cooperation program from a Spanish foundation. During this trip, the first one to an African country, I could get to know on site the circumstances and facts that many people face every day in their lives in this country, as in any other one in Africa, that we usually see on TV but we are not really aware how hard they are. The people I met every day, especially kids and women show me how to manage your life in straits and tight conditions and still give you the best smile.
About me:
I am a TV professional working as video engineer for almost 20 years now, originally from Spain, I have lived in Athens and China and had the opportunity to travel intensively during the last 8 years. Photography was something hidden inside me that showed up one day in my life as a result of those trips that led me to many different places. Since then I have taken photography as my passion, though I have been always working on a professional video environment, never felt like shooting anything. The moments you can capture with your camera are unique. Only photography made me experience new sensations, happiness and rewards me like nothing else. I have been lucky to be able to exhibit some of my photographs just for the pleasure of seeing my pictures hanging on the wall contributing to increase my passion for photography. I still have to learn a lot about this amazing world and hope to be lucky to be selected for the Travel Photography Scholarship 2010 - Kingdom of Bhutan in order to keep growing my little knowledge of this art.
