With only one FULL day in London we had a lot to fit in.
Arrive late afternoon at St Pancras Station on our First class Eurostar train to a slightly damp city.
Check in to Mad Hatter Hotel in Southwark.
Dine on Proper pub food.
Go to theatre. Not just any old theatre but the Bard's establishment. Admittedly not the original Globe but a very modern Sam Wanamaker theatre. Only 2 years old this beautiful little theatre is designed and built with the traditions of Shakespeare's original. "Little Match Girl & Other Happier Tales" was our choice. Very sweet, lots of fun, music and a message for modern times.
Fall into bed!
Sunday morning:
Wake up & eat a traditional English breakfast.
Walk:
London Eye (sadly closed for winter maintenance).
Parliament building & Big Ben.
Westminster Cathedral (from the outside - it's Sunday)
Beautiful St James Park & squirrels.
The Mall
Buckingham House & Changing of the Guard.
Trafalgar Square.
Piccadilly Circus.
Cute pubs, weekend crowds.
St Paul's Cathedral.
London's River Walk along the Thames to:
Tower of London
Tower Bridge
Sight The Shard.
The Golden Hind.
Dinner in a riverside pub overlooking Milennium Bridge.
Pretty good effort!
