My Photo scholarship 2010 entry

Worldwide | Sunday, October 17, 2010 | flickr photos

The pictures here are plain and simple, as was the place where they were taken. Away from civilization and into the wilderness, these pictures are but a part of the beauty that is there in simplicity, in silence and in nothingness. Taken while rafting down the Alaknanda -Ganga river in India and camping at the un-lived rive banks, these pictures tell a story of five strangers who met for the first time to escape the craziness of their lives. I was also a part of the strange group that set off down the river, and I came out none the wiser. So it goes.

When I am not selling my soul at a law firm, I love to pack my bags and set off to unknown destinations. So also I love to be impulsive, get off in the middle of nowhere and find my way ungoogled and map-less. It’s the love of discovering the ‘New’ and the joy of finding myself that keeps me going. Photographs for me are a way of freezing those special moments in time.
