Sao Paulo Municipal Market

My Photo scholarship 2010 entry

Worldwide | Sunday, October 17, 2010 | 5 photos

This set of pictures was taken at a market known as Mercadao, a municipal market at Sao Paulo city, in Brazil. This market, although not as big as some markets in places like Marrocos or Egypt, is a place where many people who live here come to find goodies from other places of the world, like spicies, cheese and olive oil.
The reason I like to visit here is that so many different kinds of foods and tastes are found here, what makes me wonder if anyone can really taste all of them.
Other stuff you can find here is dried meat, fish and fruit.
My objective in life, for now, is become a more serious photographer, especially a photojournalist. I do some works on that area, but not too often, and, because my main job takes me all day, sometimes I am only able to do some freelance job on weekends.
For now I take pictures of places near where I live to try to make some money with image bank, but that is not so frequent either. Despite that, I am always in search of my particular point of view, looking for something that can make people look at my pictures and recognize my style.
