My Scholarship entry - Patagonian Pleasures

Chile | Sunday, November 23, 2014 | 5 photos

A few years ago I invested in a entry level SLR, after lending a friends and I fell in love with photography. I'm a trained Electrical Engineer, but am currently on a career break, and have spent the last year travelling. This has given me some fantastic opportunites to take photos. The satisfaction I get when reviewing my photos and to find a great shot is so rewarding. I particularly like taking landscape scenes, and also action/sport shots, particularly when these two aspects are combined. I've enjoyed my photography so much over the last year, I've been trying to think how I could make this love of travel and photography into a full time career.

I believe I have an eye for framing a photo, but I know I'm not able to make the most of certain lighting conditions, which is where the scholarship would massively improve my technique and understanding of the art. Some of my best moments whilst travelling have been making the extra effort for lighting conditions, like hiking in the dark before sunrises. You get superb conditions to take shots, and the scenes you witness with your eyes are magical and memorable, some of these moments are included in my selection.
