Punk, Funk and Dodgy Beachwear...

First stop in Panama was Bocas Del Toros, an island on the Caribbean side on the country. After a day of travelling from Costa Rica, we checked
into the Mondo Taitu hostel. The first thing they did was inform us the $0.50 happy hour started in 30 minutes time and that Tuesday nights
were 80´s Power Hour.... After a blinding first night on the island we recovered the next day with a trip to Red Frog Beach, to sunbathe and
chill out in the sea. The next couple of days were spent kayaking round the island and cycling to another nice swimming beach. Before we knew it
Friday night was upon us and we had the hostel staff "forcing" us into costume again for a "Punk, Funk and Dodgy Beachwear" party. You can see
the photos and draw your own conclusions about the evening!
After the island fun we took an overnight bus to Panama City. We stayed in the old quarter which is undergoing a lot of restoration work. You
end up with beautifully restored old colonial houses next door to complete wrecks. It´s a fascinating combination and was very enjoyable to
just wander around looking at the different buildings. The next day we took the obligatory trip to the canal and watched the ships being raised
through one of the set of locks.
