My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

Australia | Tuesday, November 8, 2011 | 5 photos

I am 25 years old and have had a passion for capturing images since i was a kid. I love wildlife, nature and adventure. I studied photography at school and upon finishing school continued studying photography at Tafe. I am always looking at ways to refine and further my craft. I currently work for a TV network. But would love to fulfill my dream of pursuing photography and becoming a National Geographic photographer someday. I have always had a fascination with South Africa from the cities to the national parks. I have never had an opportunity to visit but would absolutely be in my element photographing the landscapes, wildlife and people. I am always thinking of new subjects to shoot and how i can go one better than my last photographs. I love working with film and digital formats and experimenting with compositions, depth of field and exposure. If i was successful in this scholarship it would be the greatest on the job learning experience and would be a dream come true for going on assignment in South Africa. The photos i have chosen were taking earlier this year at Taronga Zoo. The story i wanted to tell is that these animals are so unique and precious, that even if we don't live in the country they come from the conservation and survival of these animals is very important as they are irreplaceable.
