the drawing of the end

my time in newfoundland is coming to an end. i fly to vancouver on the 27th, and although i'm excited to head back to squamish and to move to asia again, it will be hard to leave this place. owing to the fact that the best part of the last month has been very wet, i haven't been climbing as much as i did during my first few weeks here. july was beautiful for the most part and my friends and i made the most of the weather to climb as much as possible. now, with the typical newfoundland rdf (rain drizzle fog), i have managed only four days out on rock in the past three weeks.
i did have a lot of plans for what i wanted to get done during my time back here. now, it seems like i'll have to leave with a few of them unfinished. prioritize. the wilderness area. body karate. i will be content to leave having accomplished at least two of those ticks on my to do list.
it is now 12:51 pm and i am not long up. after crashing for the second night in a row on leo's couch, i'm waiting for coffee as he preps some hashbrowns for brunch. the rain pouring outside has dampened any chance i have of climbing dry rock today. i'll have to settle for a sweaty. pumpy gym session at wallnuts. at least i have that option.
