My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

My name is Susan J. Thompson, I have travelled extensively and I hold a Masters of Sustainability. I have an amazing passion for understanding, interpreting and preserving the environment, cultures, languages and species of this world.
I have retained my sense of awe when I first experience a new culture and are exposed to a different way of life. I believe that each culture holds a truth about how to how to manage this planet in a sustainable way.
I also believe that the natural world holds keys to elevate humanity and offer solutions to the many challenges this world faces. The benefits of bio-mimicry are illustrated in many technological advances. Whether this be by creating a design solution for sonic boom created by a bullet train by applying the manner in which a king fisher is capable of travelling from an air to water interface without a splash or using the design of shark skin to create surfaces which are bacteria resistance.
I also believe that the solutions held within the natural world disappear frequently. If I can be a part of creating images which preserve, provide information and protect the natural environment, then that would be an amazing life.
