My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

Worldwide | Tuesday, November 8, 2011 | 5 photos

I am a chef by trade but I've become absorbed in photography in recent years. It has become a more permanent outlet for my creativity as opposed to the fleeting life of a created meal. Although I'm still passionate about food, I feel photography is my chosen future. I love to be out amongst the natural wonders most of all, taking pictures of natural beauty. While most of my experiences lately have been in urban settings involving people I'm still learning how to best capture the character of individuals in their settings. I am completely relaxed in the presence of animals although I do enjoy the opportunity to meet more people via photography than through cooking and in so many different places.
This photo set is taken from a trip my brother and I did last year to central Australia and in particular, the Simpson Desert. We both wanted to experience the remoteness and see just what was actually on the ground in such a (perceived) hostile place. The time we spent out there left us with lasting memories of a stunning land.
