Photography is the medium for the storyteller in me. Throughout the years of growing up, there always seems to be that urge to create scenarios in my head, and invent stories which explain the world to me. This lead to a natural instinct to write, constantly and persistently, always looking for the eloquent words to stitch together meaning. One day I picked up a camera, and it gave a whole new meaning to the world of words and storytelling I have always been a part of. There is a lot to consider when taking a photograph, and something I strive for most in my photography is the ability to implant an idea or an except of an open-ended story which possesses the essence of issues I am passionate about.

This set of photographs which I have chosen for the submission is composed of five photographs which I believe evoke a story beyond what can be seen on the surface of the image. These images combine the beauty of light and colors to illustrate New Zealand beyond it's aesthetic and natural beauty, but as a space and place which accommodates for a life which is unique and almost like a dream to those who live there and those who are just passing by. I believe it shows my style of photography, as it is injected with my passion for framing a view of the world which can evoke a tale of the human spirit. Furthermore, these stories send a message of the human impact and through this, I hope to inspire action as well as change.
