My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Hi Jason & members of the judging panel; I'm Stella, a freelance copywriter/editor from Sydney with a poet's heart and sometimes pen. I adore words and their power when used correctly, but I love taking photographs for when there are not enough words in the English language to convey a fleeting moment. I'm like a Meerkat, constantly surveying my environment and I love capturing these transient moments, crystallising them, storing them up as a visual journey of where I’ve been. I love the unusual and the often unseen by preoccupied minds. The world is filled with wonders that come and go with time and progress and taking pictures serves as some kind of time capsule for them. The sense of having been somewhere, felt a place - its history, its present, its progression; and sharing these with others is something I relish. To be fair, my knowledge of photography's technicalities are not my strong suit, but I do believe I have a keen eye for composition and a strong desire to learn and continue capturing the world through my eyes. Selecting my images from my recent trip to NYC was tough, though I do hope they're enough to show you where my photographer's heart lies. Thank you, Stella*
