Live my Myth in Santorini...

I am there and I am wondering what makes this island different from the other 2000 Greek islands. I am strolling in the narrow streets admiring every now and then the incredible view but still it is impossible for me to realize the uniqueness of this famous island, called Santorini.
And then I found myself in Oia, a northern area of the island, trying to survive in a sea full of people. How is it possible an island of this size to be able to sustain this number of visitors? Unable to escape from the flow of the crowd, I prudently let myself becoming one with them feeling like a drunk person who is not able to control her movements. Suddenly, this flow ceases to exist. ‘We reached the target’, I am thinking. Indeed, after some minutes of slow movements, I saw it. It was another caldera. But this time, I could notice something different on it. Apart from the small white houses and blue domed churches, the stone streets and the steep cliffs, there were groups of people who were sitting in every corner of the site having become one with the caldera, waiting for a special event to happen almost in a ritualistic way.
When it happened, I was magnetized by an unknown power. The first time I saw the sunset in Santorini, it was then that I realized the uniqueness of the island. Its power made the attendeess get lost in their own thoughts. Most of them felt the islands' myths getting a life. The reddish color of the sun was transforming the sea into lava. Once again the volcano of the island was exploding and we were there, able to survive from the catastrophe. After the dive of the sun into the sea, I could sense the life coming again, winning the dead silence that sunset caused. I could feel the heart of the island beating again and with it, the people’s hearts, which had stopped for some minutes in this breathtaking scenery and experience.
