I'm always looking for the opportunity to become a better artist. I believe that life is too short and should be spent doing what you love. All my life I have lived in the United States and it is now time for me, as a soon to be sophomore in college, to branch out an be apart of something different. Something inspiring. I believe that this Scholarship could help me in developing me self as an artist and as a person. I am studying Photography and Film at Virginia Commonwealth University so I already have more than the basic understanding for the equipment that I would be using. I shoot on a Canon 6D and a Canon A-1 film camera, the A-1 being me favorite. But, my want for this opportunity is not purely to add to my artist portfolio. It comes for my love of nature. Being outside, away from everything you know is something that I believe to be important. I learned this while becoming an Eagle Scout. Solitude from society allows you to understand yourself and that's why I want/should be chosen. This scholarship will help me grow as a person and understand what I want to do with my life.
