My Scholarship entry - Stationary Traveller

I am originally from Turkey and since I had the great passion to travel and turn the moments into never-ending stories with photos, I have decided to leave my country one year ago to have different experiences.

Photography has always opened new doors and new point of views to me. I remember that when I was a child I was trying to understand the feeling for the photos of my national geographic magazine and the feelings that I had was totally unexpectable and breathtaking for me.

My point of view has changed couple of years ago after seeing the video of National Geographic photographer Dewitt Jones. He was generally talking about to see the things from outside the box with a totally different point of view. After I saw the video I also tried to look at the ordinary and see the extraordinary.

If I would be chosen, I believe that it would be an unforgettable experience for me, not only for participating but also getting the knowledge from first hand expert. Since I am still an amateur photographer I couldn't have a chance to earn money from photography or become a professional photographer, I strongly believe that this scholarship would help to open new doors to me.
