I am currently travelling around the globe, and these images are a portrait of the city of Christchurch, which was heavily affected by two earthquakes, in September 2010 and February 2011. It left a huge impression on me about the force of nature and why we should be more respectful of it. Most parts of the central business district are gone, or had to be destructed. This church detail demonstrates the severe power of an earthquake – a cracked arch above the entrance, parts have fallen down. Future will tell if the church can be restored.
