"seven shooting stars in one night
the water and sand in our eyesight
the rocks in our hands preparing for flight
the lack of sleeping but it's alright"
My memories about Qurbus's trip always make me remember those lyrics of a wonderful Peter Broderick's song.
I volunteered in the World Social Forum 2015. It was realy a chance for me to meet two nice man; one from
America and the other from Argentina. We kept seeing eachother after the forum.
One day, while we were walking in Tunis, the american told me that he was going with an australian
friend to Qurbus in order to spend the night.
Though i was not prepared for a trip i decided to join them.
We went, we found ourselves in a small village in the middle of an outstanding pure nature.
We had an hour before sunset. There was a hot spring in the village. We went to see it.
The view we found was beyond words. The main spring just gushes from the mountain into the sea.
I will never forget that moment, i shared with nature, when i sat on a rock singing and watching sunset
over the sea while the waves were trying to reach me.
For the dinner, we went to a nice restaurant; we were its only guests. It was very quite. We ordered different
meals and we shared them all..we shared every thing..we shared heaven.
In fact, it was magic how we shared so much though we barely knew each other.
After dinner, we went to the room we rent for the night. The argentinian played harmonica. So there was a combination
between harmonica and the sound of water hitting the rocks. Every time, we try to guess the song he is playing. I won!
That night was like a shooting star; time went by so fast but i saw the bright clearly!!
The next day we woke up for a walk along the undulating mountains side with a couple of breathtaking views.
While walking, we saw a motorcycle driver crossing a narrow road in hight. It was extremely dangerous and he was doing it
with a smile on his face. The funny thing is that he stopped and talked with me about his american girlfriend that visited
him here. He told me that they were planning for marriage but it went wrong. We just met and he was telling me about
his girlfriend who was cheating on him. Isn't it funny?!!
After that we had breakfast in a mountain Café. A magnificient place to be!
There in that soulful place, i connected with nature and i connected with people from three different countries in
such a beautiful way.
I felt lucky and i'm so grateful for that special experience.
